Meet the Board
Kelly A. Ilseman, President and Executive Director
Kelly graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, with a focus on Shiatsu bodywork. She works as an acupuncturist at Advanced Acupuncture and Quest Center for Integrative Health, and serves as the Research Committee Chair for the Oregon Acupuncturists Association (OAA). She ran her own acupuncture practice called PDX Points for 3.5 years. Kelly worked at the University of Maine Upward Bound Math Science Program from 2001-2017, most recently in the position of Assistant Director. She has a Master's in Human Nutrition and Science/Environmental Education both from the University of Maine, and a BS in Biology, minor in English Literature. She started Ripple Acupuncture Project to help inspire enthusiasm in others for the novelty of acupuncture as personal experiential education as well as to promote eastern and traditional medicines and to help support patients, students, and other practitioners. When she's not working her butt off, she can be found doing yoga, biking, or hiking.
Steve Philbrick, Secretary
Steve has a Master's degree in Education and another in Computer Science (ABD) from the University of Maine in Orono. He works as a full-time Academic Coordinator for the University of Maine Upward Bound Program. Steve enjoys reading (particularly books!), discovering new music (especially live), exercising (jogging, cycling, bouldering/climbing things), and is currently addicted to freshwater fishing, fishing lures/reels/poles, and tying the perfect knot. Steve serves as the Secretary for Ripple Acupuncture Project. He is passionate about the benefits he gets from regular acupuncture treatment.
Aaron McIntire, Treasurer
Aaron graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine Master's program in 2023 and completed one year of the doctoral (DAOM) program. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Finance program at Portland State University (PSU) with a strong focus on non-profit management. He hopes to combine his love of acupuncture, finance, and astrology in the future. Aaron serves as the Treasurer for Ripple Acupuncture Project. In his free time Aaron enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and delving into stone medicine.
